Mrs. Watson was born into the Air Force so to speak. She was born at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida where her parents were stationed. Both of her parents were in the service so it has always been a part of her life. As a child she lived in Germany and Greece. She graduated from high school in Athens, Greece. When she enlisted she was sent to Mississippi for training to become a computer programmer. Most of her career revolved around working in this field.
There were several wars during the time that Mrs. Watson served. She did not physical serve in a war. The first war that occurred during her service was Desert Storm and then the Iraqi War which is the Iraqi Freedom, and the Afghan War, and the Bosnian War.
She was working in Colorado Springs at the time as a computer programmer for the Nuclear Detonation Warning System at Cheyenne Mountain. Her job was to write computer programs that detected bombs that might burst into the air. This was just the start of her career.
